As a physician, I urge voters to support right to an abortion: Letters

As a physician, I urge voters to support women’s reproductive rights Nov. 8

Oct. 22 – To the Editor:

I am a Family Physician writing to encourage voters to vote for candidates who are in support of a woman’s right to an abortion.

The idea that a government, based on religious or other ideologies, could tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body is about control but not freedom. The lack of control over one’s own body is the opposite of freedom. The government does not know what is in a woman’s best interest regarding her own body.

Americans are not in agreement that life begins at conception. The government, whether federal or state, should not impose one ideology on when life begins.
