Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Health and Education

Manchester Metropolitan is one of the largest universities in the UK, located at the heart of a vibrant and ambitious city. We trace our roots back to the early part of the nineteenth century, when institutions were established to deliver skills and education for local people, improving livelihoods and the economy. Today, we value our deep connection to Manchester, and our contribution to its development as a city-region renowned for ground-breaking innovation, radical thinking and social change.

The University is committed to providing excellent education to transform our students’ lives, and to delivering high quality research with powerful real-world impacts and benefits. While maintaining robust financial foundations, we will continue to invest to remain a great place to learn, research and work, continuously developing our people, campus, and infrastructure.

As the University continues to innovate in pursuit of excellence, we are now seeking an exceptional Pro-Vice-Chancellor to lead our Faculty of Health and Education. The Faculty comprises six main units – the Departments of Health Professions; Nursing; Psychology; Social Care and Social Work; and the Schools of Childhood, Youth and Education Studies; and Teacher Education and Professional Development. We sit in the heart of the Manchester City Region and work with a range of partners to create a vibrant inter-disciplinary hub for high-impact research and outstanding teaching activity; challenging inequalities and improving lives for the benefit of all our communities.

This is an exciting chance to shape and lead a significant part of the University’s academic portfolio in an area of unbounded opportunity. We are therefore seeking candidates with sustained academic leadership experience gained at a strategic level, who can successfully engage and inspire staff. You will also be a leading academic in your discipline, committed to the transformational power of higher education and passionate about delivering high-impact research and an exceptional student experience.
