Up close and in person, Gaston Library Friends’ book sale returns

Melinda Pierce and Linda Klocker are nothing less than giddy over the prospects for the upcoming Friends of the Gaston County Public Library book sale.

And why shouldn’t they be?

The sale, which beings at 10 am on Wednesday, April 20, is the first on-site, in person sales event since April of 2019.

Plans for the April 2020 sale were well underway when a nasty little party pooper named COVID-19 came calling and the sale had to be canceled.

Even though it had thoroughly worn out its welcome, COVID lingered through 2021 as well, meaning only a limited, virtual sale could be held.

But for next week, the doors will be open, the boots will be on the ground, and the books, videos, and music will be on the shelves.
