Stamford school board denies grievance filed by teachers union over block scheduling

This week, that claim was before the Stamford Board of Education as a grievance filed by the Stamford Education Association teachers union. A three-person committee of board members was charged with deciding its fate.

After about a half hour of deliberations Thursday, the committee voted to deny the grievance by a final tally of 2-1. Member Becky Hamman supported the SEA’s filing; members Jackie Heftman, the president of the board, and Andy George, chair of the Labor Committee, voted against accepting the grievance.
