Effective March 4, 2022, until rescinded: Order of the Health Officer of Mendocino County rescinding the wearing of face coverings in indoor public settings by all persons in response to the surge of COVID-19 and the spread of the Delta Variant. Strong recommendation to continue indoor masking at this time. However, indoor masking is still mandated in certain settings such as schools, healthcare settings and public transportation. First Thursday Community Concert Series

Dessert Dollars

The Fort Bragg Presbyterian Church will be hosting its annual community Easter dinner on April 17 and need help. Due to COVID rules, they can only take store-bought dessert donations. Next time you are shopping in Harvest market or Safeway, please ask the checker to add something extra to your total for dessert Dollars. All donate, please add an item for Dessert Dollars. Donation deadline is April 14.

Poetry Open Mic at the Library

Hit and Run Theater Comeback

Hit and Run Theater takes the stage with “Improv Strikes Back,” a Comedy Comeback Weekend at the Caspar Community Center in Caspar, CA. Join the group for two nights of improvisational comedy on Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9, at 7:00 pm. The Caspar CommunityCenter will open at 6:30 pm, so come early for best seating. All ages welcome. General admission is $ 20, with senior tickets available for $ 15, and kids under 18 for $ 12. Attendees must be masked and will be required to show vaccine cards.

Walk and Paddle for Cancer Resource Centers 2022

Time to sign up for the annual Walk & Paddle held in person for the first time since 2019. The event raises funds for the Cancer Resource Centers which offer help, free of charge, to anyone facing cancer in Mendocino County. The event will take place on May 14 at Big River Beach on North Big River Road in Mendocino. Registration begins today at the Cancer Resource Centers’ website: crcmendocino.org.

Income Tax Assistance

NCO Volunteer Network’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program is providing free tax preparation to Mendocino and Lake County households that made $ 66,000 or less in 2021. No appointment is necessary. Drop by the Ukiah NCO office to submit your documents and receive a consultation. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from Noon to 5:00 pm. All COVID-19 precautions will be taken. Masks are required.

Friday Free Clothing Pop Up Swap

Every Friday (weather permitting) from 11-4 pm, the Fort Bragg Food Bank crew of staff and volunteers will be out front at 910 North Franklin Street sorting clothing for the Friday Free Clothing Pop Up Swap, open to clients and community members to come to look through and take home – all for free.

Friday Skate Night

Friday nights from 7 to 9 is family skate night at the Old Rec Gym in Fort Bragg – 213 E Laurel St. The cost is $ 5 per day and participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign them in. Questions call 707 964-9446.

Fish Markets

Join the Noyo Harbor District for Fish Markets on the corner of South Harbor Drive and Basin Street in Fort Bragg, CA. From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, local fishermen will be selling catch from their boats. Other vendors will be on the shore selling their products.

Whale Celebration Saturdays

From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, join Point Cabrillo volunteers to watch the migrating gray whales from the vantage point of the Light Station bluffs. Mendocino Film Festival Members Free Screening

Spring Seed Sharing at the Library

Join us before, during, or after the Music at the Library event to share your extra seeds and take home some to plant. Kids can make and take a bean growing bag to experiment at home. New Fishing Regulations

California Fish and Wildlife Commission has adopted emergency fishing regulations due to rivers’ low flow and the salmon and steelhead runs. It is the responsibility of the fisher-person to call for the status of coastal rivers in Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte Counties. The phone messages will be updated no later than 1 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays as needed. Call 707-822-3164.

Fort Bragg Vaccine Clinic

On Mondays Mendocino County Public Health at 120 West Fir Street in Fort Bragg offers all vaccines, including 3rd doses for the immune-compromised, and boosters. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm for lunch. Sign up for an appointment at MyTurn.gov. A parent or a legal guardian must print and sign a consent for minors for the Pfizer vaccine. Fort Bragg Garden Club Meeting

The meeting will feature horticulturist Mishele Steettenbenz who will share how she created space in her yard to attract pollinators. The meeting will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens in the Education Center, known as the Farm House. Club meetings are open to all interested persons. COVID Testing Fort Bragg

COVID testing is available in Fort Bragg outside the Veterans’ Building on Tuesdays, from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm, and 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm. The location is 383 North Harrison Street.

Tuesday in the Tent

Every week it’s Tuesdays in the Tent at the Mendocino Coast Clinics from 3 to 5 pm. All vaccines are available, including 3rd doses for the immune-compromised, and boosters. It’s a drive-thru in the white tent on the north side of the clinic, no appointment is needed. Boosters are now available for children aged 12 and up, if it has been at least 6 months since their second dose if they received Moderna or Pfizer, or at least 2 months if they received Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine. Please follow all traffic signage and instructions for the vaccine clinic on Tuesday, and please do not come early.

COVID Testing Fort Bragg

The Mendocino Coast Clinic has free drive-up COVID Surveillance testing (for people with no symptoms) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on both Wednesday and Thursday. These are different tests and are processed differently. If you have symptoms, call the Clinic at 707-964-1251 to get assessed and see if you need to be tested. If you have been exposed, please wait for 3 or 4 days before asking to be tested. You will not get a true result if the test is done too early after exposure. The location is 205 South Street.

ABCs of Google Docs

From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, the West Business Development Center’s webinar will demystify Google Docs, show how it is different and similar to Microsoft Word, and why you may want to consider switching.
